Legal Writing - Judy Zeprun Kalman, NAGTRI

 

Judy Zeprun Kalman is Deputy General Counsel and the Director of the AG Institute in Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley’s Office. The AG Institute conducts training programs for lawyers and support staff on a wide range of topics, including management, trial advocacy, writing, technology, and office policy and procedure. Ms. Kalman has been in state service for more than 30 years, generally as a prosecutor, but also a civil litigator. She has held positions as Chief of Litigation for the Western Massachusetts Division of the Attorney General’s Office; First Assistant District Attorney for the Hampden District; Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Bureau; and Assistant District Attorney and Senior Attorney in the Appeals Division of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Kalman has served as a faculty member for NAAG for many years and is a past recipient of the NAGTRI Faculty of the Year Award. She is a graduate of Boston University School of Law and Brandeis University and has taught criminal procedure, appellate advocacy, and trial advocacy at Western New England College School of Law, in Springfield, MA, and legal writing at Boston University School of Law.
