CHRIS LACOMBE

Utah Attorney General's Office
Biography

Chris graduated from Western New England College of Law. After graduation, he worked as a JAG for the U. S. Navy doing both court martial defense and prosecution. In private practice following the Navy, he worked as a litigator where he used sleep walking as a defense in a murder case. Following private practice he returned to public service as a Regional Attorney for New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation where he spent significant amounts of time bringing municipal and industrial waste water/sewage facilities into compliance with their permits.  Some say he was full of something.  Some say he was the inspiration for both A Few Good Men and A Civil Action.

Chris joined the AG’s office in 2011 and worked for three years in the Natural Resources Division as an attorney in the Public Lands Section in the state’s effort to quiet title to over 12,000 roads.  His exemplary service there is highlighted by his friendly salutation to skeptical rural land owners, which was, “I am from the government and I’m here to help.”

Chris has since joined the Education Division and has represented the State Board of Education and Salt Lake Community College.  At SLCC he assisted nursing educators in pioneering cutting edge placental research and teaching methodologies.  In the past Mr. Lacombe was an elected member of a public school board and an instructor at the college level for nearly 20 years.  He is clearly a true officer and a gentleman.
