Oral Advocacy

RYAN TENNEY

U.S. Attorney's Office
Biography

I graduated from BYU law school in 2003. After clerking and then working in private practice for several years, I spent 9 years in the AG's criminal appeals division, where my highlights included being responsible for both the Butt and Cheek rules, as well as managing to make case-relevant references to the Godfather, Fifty Shades of Grey, and The Simpsons Movie in different oral arguments. I'm now an attorney in the appellate section of the U.S. Attorney's office, where I fill out a lot more forms and wear a tie to work far more often than I used to.
