Benjamin Cook

 

Benjamin Cook is an attorney, mediator, and partner at Collaborative Development Partners, a global consulting firm specializing in negotiation training and conflict management. He has developed and taught courses and workshops on dispute resolution for several years in cities across the United States, and taught negotiation at the Harvard Negotiation Institute. He has provided mediation training for Rwandan judges through Rwanda’s Institute of Legal Practice and Development, and is currently working on mediation training projects in Rwanda, Nigeria, and Uganda. Cook has taught negotiation and lawyering skills at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University law schools, and is co-author of the book Advanced Negotiation and Mediation: Concepts, Skills, and Exercises.

 

Cook worked for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training on law and development projects in Africa. He has also administered international programs at Harvard Law School, and has served as field director in Zimbabwe and Uganda for service-learning programs focusing on education and international development.

 

Cook holds a J.D. from Georgetown University. He earned master’s degrees in international development and comparative education, as well as a bachelor’s degree in English, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University.
